Winemaker Notes

 Vineyard:

Grapes come from Nuna Vineyard, in, Agrelo, Lujan de Cuyo, Mendoza.
Altitude: 960 m.
Climate: Sunny and dry, large thermal amplitude.

Vinification:

Vinification process is very respectful to the grapes. Traditional maceration. Cold soaking is performed until the natural fermentation starts. Extraction process is very gentle and lasts for about 15 days. Temperatures are controlled between 78-86 ºF.

Terroir:

Mostly loam, with sandy loam spots of 100 cm and deeper. Calcium carbonate covered with
gravel in some areas.

Training system:

Vines trained in VSP. Depending on specific soil conditions, Guyot or Cordon is used as pruning
technique.

Tasting Notes:

Blueberry, cardamom and floral aromas are distinct on the nose and offer much more complexity than the average value-priced Argentine Malbec. A solidly built palate is balanced by juicy acidity, while this tastes of snappy currant and plum along with desert herbs. A fresh, popping finish lasts a while due to bright acidity. Wine Enthusiast

Produced in a light style, with good ripeness and full flavors. It has sweet Malbec fruit and tannins but finishes dry. It's juicy, but there's something stony about it too. - 2019 Vintage, 90 Points

Luis Gutiérrez, Robert Parker Wine Advocate

A Malbec from Agrelo, Luján de Cuyo, with low added anhydride and fermented with native yeasts before aging for 10 months in epoxy-free concrete. The result is a lively red that looks bright purple in the glass and offers acidic fruit including sweet and sour cherries, plus black tea and herbal notes. Expressive and impactful in flavor; the natural acidity that has been maintained from vineyard to glass is the key to the wine’s easy-drinking profile. Vinous

This has a brambly array of ripe red berries and blackcurrants, leading to a palate with very smooth, supple tannins holding blueberry flavors long and fresh. Drink or hold. - 2018 vintage

James Suckling

Nose of boysenberry compote, spiced black plums, cinnamon and vanilla. This wine is bold, fruit forward, and rich, with notes of blackberry liquor, Kirschwasser, cola, berry and custard tart, fresh tobacco, and dark chocolate covered cherries.
